The Department of Agronomy is one of the founding departments of the Faculty of Agriculture at Kasetsart University, established nearly 80 years ago. The department offers agronomy curricula from bachelor's through doctoral level, emphasising advanced principles and research in economic crops such as rice, corn, cassava, oil palm, sugarcane, rubber, bioenergy crops and legumes.

Research and curricula incorporate modern technology and knowledge to enhance production efficiency through studies in plant breeding, plant physiology and production, weed science, seed science and post-harvest technology, and agricultural meteorology — aligned with food and energy demand.
