Abstract

Hemp has high cannabidiol (CBD) content and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) content of less than 1% (%w/w). Import cultivars from foreign countries with sexual propagation may cause genetic variability if their parents are not pure lines. The preliminary planting test of 150 imported CBD Charlotte's Angel varieties seeds, displayed differences in phenotype. Therefore, 4 outstanding plants were selected for use in this experiment. This study aimed to test the yield of four selected hemp lines. A completely randomized design (CRD) was used, with each line planted in twenty-five plants and data collected from five plants. The lines were propagated using the cutting method and grown in an indoor growing system. The results showed that the dried inflorescence yield of the four lines was not statistically different. When considering the harvest index (HI), there was a significant difference. The highest harvest index was Line 2 for was 0.71, while lines 1, 3, and 4 were no significant differences. Line 2 had a dry stem and leaf weights lower than lines 1, 3, and 4 leading to high HI values Line 2 was higher than all 3 lines. There for, Line 2 should be selected because of low dry stem and leaf weights. And expected to have a small canopy size and allow planting in a close spacing will be test more for plant spacing.
