Selection of Pineapple Hybrids Derived from the Cross of Pattavia x MD2 for Canned Pineapple Processing Using K-mean Clustering Method
Abstract
The pineapple industrial had depended on one variety as Pattavia. Selection of Pattavia and MD2 were gotten 319 clones. The objective of this study was to group pineapple genotypes with fresh fruit weight and core width suitable for the canned pineapple processing industry. Fresh fruit weight, fruit colour, core width, eye depth, peel thickness and brix were recorded and grouped using K-mean clustering analysis by Star version 2.0.1.0 program. Pineapple cloned can be grouped for 10 groups, compared with their parents. The selected genotypes found that the 4th group peel thickness, eye depth, and core width the parents variety. In addition, 8group 8, they also have fresh fruit weight and higher brix than their parents. M1-16, M13-11, M81-12, PV8-13 and M38-52 clone was suitable good characteristics for industrial pineapple.
