Abstract

Cytokinin hormone induces cell division and lateral branching of plants and stimulates flowering in cassava. The objective of this research was to assess the side effects of cytokinin, 6-Benzyladenine or BA, on cassava growth which is used to induce flowering. Four replication of randomized completely block design (RCBD) were planned, with the main plot factor was the concentration of BA which were 0, 0.5, 1, 1.5 and 2.0mM. The sub plot factor was two cassava varieties, Huay Bong 80 and Rayong 9. By measuring the growth of cassava which were height and canopy width and canopy length every month after the first hormonal spray with a total of 4 measurements. The results show that BA did not affect plant length or canopy size. As a result, cytokinin did not affect plant growth disorders in terms of plant height and canopy size.
