Abstract

The comparison of growth and yield component of 16 oils palms crosses in ten years old at high acidic soil area. The study was conducted at the Oil Palm Technology Development for Commercial Bio-diesel Industry in newly planted area Project (OPTD). Surat Thani2 was used as a checked variety. Growth comparison of oil palm was recorded based on growth data consisting of stem height, foliar length, foliar cross-sectional area, leaf area, substrate width, leaf length and the total number of leaves. Yield comparison was recorded based on the weight of oil palm bunches for every harvest cycle during September 2019 to August 2020, The growth and yield component were analyzed through one-way ANOVA and multiple comparison of significant difference by Tukey's test. The results showed that (KA3/21D x KA48/5P) (15) cross has the highest of the foliar length. average number of leaves, average leaf width and leaf area. The cross no. 15 has bunch average and fresh fruit bunch. Average fresh fruit bunch (kg/rai/year) of cross no. 14 (KA8/1D x KA1P) and 15 (KA3/21D x KA48/5P) not statistically different from Suratthani 2 in the highly acidic soil area.
