Efficiency of Rooting Agent for Cannabis and Hemp Shoot Cutting
Abstract
Cannabis and hemp are plants in the family Cannabaceae. The propagation of cannabis and hemp is mainly based on cuttings because it is a genetic propagation method that matches the original variety of the mother plant and a simple and easy method that can be done by small farmers to large farms. Cutting propagation often involves the use of rooting hormones or other root-promoting substances. The purpose of this research was to study the efficacy of rooting promoters in cannabis and hemp cuttings Effect of 6 commercial root promotion hormones and control on the rooting of cannabis and hemp cultivars consisting of Hang Kra Rog, Strawberry Cough, and CBD Charlotte's angel which placed in Rockwool. There were 8 cuttings per cultivar. It was found that Squirrel, substance D had the highest number of roots at 86.12 roots, and without Control had the least number of roots at 27.12 roots. Strawberry Cough substance B had 8 roots. The highest number of roots was 36.62, and the least number of roots was 3.12 without the control method and CBD Charlotte's Angel, substance D had the highest number of roots, 59.75, and without the agent method. Control had the least number of roots, equal to 3.62 roots. Using Auxin rooting promoter in all 3 cultivars of cannabis plants had a higher average number of roots than without using a rooting promoter. There was a statistically significant difference and good effect on root induction.
