Abstract

These days cassava production in Thailand has been adopted in many regions and under diverse meteorological conditions which could affected on plant growth and development, ranging from the stages of planting to harvest. The majority of cassava planting areas are rain-fed, that currently demonstrated changing trends in both season and quantity. This affects on either drought or flooding during the crop production periods. The objectives of this experiment are thus to study the effect of flooding duration on growth and development, and some physiological parameters during a period of tuberous root formation. The CRD with 3 replications are utilized and the experiment is conducted in the pot system under in green house. The flooding duration of 5, 10 and 15 days are imposed on 2-month old cassava, variety KU50 after planting. Afterward, the recovery periods are allowed in all treatments until reaching 3 months after planting for final harvest, comparing to control.
