Abstract

Kratom plant after take out from narcotic plant was widely planted. However, kratom plant was called different variety name by characteristics of the leaves. Propagation of Kratom by grafting method using good Kratom scion to reduce variability caused by seed propagation. Kratom scion grafted on Krathum rootstocks, it was also the used of plants that good and strong root system. It will help Kratom grow well. Therefore, the objective of this experiment was to examine morphology and compare the growth of Kratom varieties. Kratom varieties including KangLatLumKaeo, KanDaengHangKang, KanDaengChumphon, and Rianthong were planted at National Corn and Sorghum Research Center (Suwan farm) Faculty of Agriculture Kasetsart University Pak Chong Nakhon Ratchasima. Two-month-old seedlings with propagation by grafting method were planted at spacings of 4 x 4 meter. They were planted on 13 July 2022. Data were collected at 74 and 127 days after planted. The results showed that all 4 varieties of kratom were different in all characteristics. KangLatLumKaeo variety was the highest of plant height, trunk size, branch length, leaf width and leaf length. Thus, that variety has the potential of growth well at Suwan farm. This information will be basis used for selecting of Kratom variety.
