Effect of Thiamethoxam on Growth and Development of Cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz.)
Abstract
The effects of thiamethoxam on growth and develoment of cassava was studies at the field in department of Agronomy, Faculty of Agriculture, Kasetsart University, Bangkok. During November'9 2009-February'26 2010. A 3 x 2 x 5 Factorial in RCBD was used and replicated 3 times. Treatment were 3 cultivars of cassava (Kasetsart 50, Huaybong 60 and Huaybong 80), 2 traetment method (soaked Thiamethoxam and unsoaked stem cutting) and 6 duration of harvest (29, 43, 57, 71, 85 and 99 day after plant) The result illustrated the cultivars were significant differences to observed in the following character; stem high, root length, number of cambium storage and adventitious root, fresh weight of cambium storage and adventitious root, dry weight of cambium storage and adventitious root, fresh and dry weight of above ground. Kasetsart 50 were the highest of tree, number of cambium storage and adventitious root, fresh weight of cambium storage and adventitious root, dry weight of cambium storage and adventitious root, fresh weight of above ground (25.46 cm, 9.83 root, 42.08 root, 17.03 g, 40.02 g, 1.81 g, 4.60 g and 178.55 g respectively) For stem cutting of soaked and unsoaked by thiamethoxam significantly effected high of tree and number of cambium storage root. Result the soaked stem cutting were higher than unsoaked (24.72 cm and 18.81 cm respectively) and the length of cambium storage and adventitious root, fresh weight of cambium storage and adventitious root, fresh weight of above ground and dry weight of above ground is not significant but tendency were stem cutting were soaked greater than unsoaked stem cutting.
