Abstract

Cassava leaves are high in protein which can be used as a source of protein in animal feed and help farmers benefit from leaf production. The experiment consisted of 3 varieties of KU 50, KUKM045 and KUKM060 in randomized completely block design (RCBD) for 4 replications in the field at the research station in Thab Kwang research station, Saraburi province and Khao Hin Son research station, Chachoengsao province. Data collection for plant height, total leaf weight, leaf cyanide content in 4 months, 8 months and together with fresh tuber yield at 12 months. The results showed that KUKM060 had the highest cumulative leaf weight for amounts of 1.04 and 0.47 kilograms per plant in two locations. For KU50, cumulative leaf production was 1.03 and 0.3 kilograms of fresh leaves, respectively, and KUKM045 produced 0.52 and 0.17 kilograms of fresh leaves. KUKM060 has no significant difference in the amount of cyanide from other varieties. Therefore, it can be used as animal feed with proper leaf fermentation process.
