Ash Rate Application Effect on Dwarf Napier Grass Growth
Abstract
Dwarf Napier grass (Pennisetum purpureum cv. Mott) is a good source of roughage. But there is a high production cost from the use of a large amount of chemical fertilizers. As a result solution to save expenses was discovered by using ash, which is a huge volume of waste from biomass power plants, as a soil conditioner to boost Dwarf Napier grass output. The objective of this research was just how applying ash from biomass power plants as a soil conditioner affected Dwarf Napier grass growth and yield. The research found that the ash rates from distinct biomass power plants did not differ statistically against height, leaf and stem ratio, and Dwarf Napier grass leaf area index, Whereas the Dwarf Napier grass, 40 to 45 days old, responded to all rates of biomass ash. statistically significant (P< 0.05). With ash application rates of 1,500 and 2,000 kg/rai Yields total dry weights of 109.20 and 115.38 kg/pot. However, which again is greater than the ash rate of 500 kg /rai. And no ash application yielded a total dry weight of 76.54 and 73.60 g/pot respectively, were statistically significant without ash ( P< 0.05). Furthermore, increasing the biomass ash content improved the dry plant weight of Dwarf Napier grass in a statistically significant (P< 0.01).
