Abstract

In general, bean sprouts cultivation in Thailand will be cultivated at room temperature. It may affect the quality and weight of the bean sprouts that is not according to the market demand criteria. Chainat 3 is a new variety that has not yet been researched for bean sprouts cultivation. Therefore, the objectives of this research were to study effects of incubating temperature during cultivation on seedling quality, or bean sprouts, of Chainat 3 mung bean seed. The Completely Randomized Design has 2 Treatments as follows: T1) The temperature at 35 ° C on day 1 and 25 ° C from day 2 onwards and T2) The temperature at 35 ° C on day 1 and 2 and 25 ° C from day 3 onwards. This experimental research is control. Width and length of the hypocotyl and the total weight were examined at 3 day after performong. The results revealed that T2 had longer hypocotyl with the highest weight of this experiment (p<0.05). T2 had the length of hypocotyl and its total weight higher than T1 for 24.02 percent and 9.29 percent, respectively. This result was higher than the control for 73.69 percent and 29.73 percent, respectively. However, the hypocotyl width had no difference significantly.
