Abstract

The objective of this experiment was to select peanut cultivars and planting spacing that yielded seeds, biomass, and nutritional value for seed yield production and using as ruminant feed. The field experiment was conducted at paddy field at Ton Phueng sub-district, Phanna Nikhom District, Sakon Nakhon Province in 2020-2021. The experiment was arranged in a split plot experiment in RCBD with 4 replications. Main plot consisted of two plants spacings: narrow plant spacing (15x10 cm) and wide plant spacing (20x20 cm plant spacing). Sub plot consisted of 4 cultivars/varieties: 11200-1, KUP13W027, Tainan 9 (TN9) and Khon Kean (KK5) (control). The results showed that TN9 combination with narrow plant spacing had high fresh weight of leaf, stem, pod, leaf and stem and fresh biomass yield (305, 4,232, 1,009, 6,538 and 7,547 kg/rai, respectively) and also provided high dry weight of leaf, stem, pod, leaf and stem and dry biomass yield (529, 1,175, 444, 1,704 และ 2,148 kg/rai, respectively). KK5 combination with wide plant spacing had high seed yield/plant and number seed/plant. The nutritional value of peanut leaf in KUP13W027 combination with wide plant spacing was high moisture content (82.84%). There were no statistically significant differences in NDF, ADF, ADL, Ash and CP content of leaf and stem in all plant spacing and cultivars/varieties. Therefore, KUP13W027 combination with narrow plant spacing was the suitable treatment, because it had higher seed yield, fresh and dry biomass yield than the control.
